Making a stream!

Over the past few days, Elementary and Preschool children have been working together to build a stream. Once they were finished we tried it out with pitchers of water.

Believe it or not it is the last week of school. I am sad because I will miss each and every one of you, but I am excited to start the summer with my family. We are trying to make the last week of school extra special. So far we have had Messy Day and walked to Sparky's for some DELICIOUS ice cream. Wednesday we are heading to Creative Days Art Studio and then Thursday we hope you can join us for a picnic on the playground.

If there is a chance of rain on Thursday, the picnic will be cancelled.

The last day of the week was extra fun making boats and playing with the new light table. If your child hasn't already told you, we took a walking field trip to the Stephens Green House next to our playground. Make sure to take a few minutes and enjoy the slideshow with your child.

Miss Emily's Last Day

Thursday was Miss Emilys' last day with us. She graduates on Sat., May 15 and we are so proud of all that she has accomplished. We had a little party for her with balloons, streamers and party hats. The children had fun hiding and yelling surprise as she walked in the room. We will be blessed to have her back with us next year while she continues on with her Masters degree at Stephens.

We took advantage of the beautiful day and walked to the Benton-Stephens Community Garden right down the road. Before we left we read Tops and Bottoms and learned that some vegetables grow above the ground and some grow below the ground. While at the garden we saw many vegetables and a fruit starting to grow. These included tomatoes, potatoes, lettuce, spinach and strawberries. If you ever have time and want to take a look at the garden we will be happy to send you in the right direction.
